Why learn Calligraphy?
I kinda wanted to explore this question on a personal basis. This will be kinda like talking to myself, except that I invite you to listen in.
So back the title question - Because I really like the writing instruments and also it makes for really good thank you notes. People really love the thank you notes I gave, even before I learnt calligraphy. Imagine their reaction when I add that in ;p Double happiness!
This all started because I wanted to spend some quality time with my spouse. And just so happened there was a promo for a brush lettering course! I quickly discovered how easy it is for me to start practising whenever I wanted to. Fast forward a year later, I took up pointed pen calligraphy with the same art teacher. This time, practising was much harder, as more equipment are required to be set up before I can even start writing. My love for drawing words is what keeps me going even with all the hassle.
I won't be going into the technicalities of how calligraphy works, I am still very much learning as I go along at this point. Even this blog in my very first, yay!
